Graphics with high authenticity can be drawn efficiently by use of texture mapping, withno consideration of texture specifics or complicated modeling procedure. It has a realisticrendering of the image has an important role. Triangular meshes is becoming the most popularmethod to show the surface of object, therefore, study on texture mapping on triangulatedirregular surface is of great significance.The texture mapping techniques are clarrified into two part texture mapping andparameterization mapping, generalizing and summarizing the mapping algorithm of each type,and making analysis and comparison in terms of the texture transformation, this paperintroduces an algorithm for it according to both the harmonic parameterization and thetriangular mesh surface flattening based on the spring-mass model. And then it calculates thetexture coordinates of the nodes of meshes, thereby performing texture mapping. It remainsthe geometric properties of the triangular mesh, reduces the texture distortion.In view of getting the better timing capacity, a texture mapping algorithm is proposedbased on the symplification of triangular meshes. Firstly, the algorithm symplifys thetriangular meshes. Then it calculates the texture coordinates of all vertices in the originaltriangular meshes through the symplified triangular meshes. Also, an optimized algorithm onvector collapse by curvature is put forward on the basis of original simplifying algorithm oftriangular meshes. The algorithm is using the product of each vector length and localcurvature as collapsed cost, which can remain the geometric characteristics of the originalmodel. After it, the original parameterization coordinates of the remained vertices is get byusing the algorithm of texture mapping based on the spring mass model. And according thethe coordinates and the topological relationship between the remained vertices and the deletedvertices, the original parameterization coordinates of the deleted vertices can be get. Then thespring mass model is set up on the original parameterization model to modify part of the original coordinates. Through the symplification of triangular meshes, the algorithm costs theless time.At last, it is indicated through the instance that the texture mapping algorithm based onthe spring mass model raised by the essay is able to keep the texture well-distributed, andless-transformed, which can be applied to any irregular surface. And the texture mappingalgorithm based on the symplification of triangular meshes can get the same result, whilecosts the less time. Triangular meshes algorithm can simplify the orginal medel keeping thegemotric characteristics. All algorithms brought up by this essay is effective and practical.
