Foreign Electronic Journal Full-Text Database Evaluation Model

This paper objects foreign e-journal full-text database of CALIS. Analyzing the evaluation researches on database home and aboard and "CALIS satisfaction survey reports of the databases introduced", this research chooses criterion of foreign e-journal full-text database to set up the index system by adopting AHP approach. The paper puts forward the two grades indexes system and the four grades analytical hierarchy models. First grade index includes: basic index, technical index, benefit index, establishing three sub systems with 16 quantitative indices corresponding the three indices of the first class. An applicable broadly foreign e-journal full-text database evaluation model is constructed with AHP approach and fuzzy evaluation method.The model is constructed according to CALIS satisfaction survey reports of the database introduced. From 1998, CALIS invests and measures the result that how all users make use of the introduced databases around the countrywide every year. The investigation is promulgated with what result is universality, real, authority. This paper gathers and analyzes the date of the 2006 CALIS survey reports and the evaluation model constructing ordinary parameters of the indices of the model. By analyzing the data of the CALIS survey report, the weights of 16 evaluation indices are calculated using manifold arithmetic. The criterion cost multiplied the indices of variable standardization cost corresponding to the database loads capacity by using multianalysis method. According to load capacity, the excellent or inferior is estimated.The evaluation puts forwards the weights of the indices and the calculation of random indices which exists at random. Feasibility must be checked because the model is applied by idiographic library. The research is charged with the item of JALIS fifteenth building about Jiangsu Province. The research carries through the science estimation about the quality and content of eight foreign e-journal full-text databases which are intruded by CALIS. The investigation gets hold of quantity of core journals, subject distribution, impact factor, journal sum etc. Springerlink, Wiley, Blackwell are chosen because of their representation. According to CALIS classify of database, the three databases attribute partly first class, second class, third class and have maturity date. In order to subject frame of literature resource of the library of Nanjing Agricultural University and demand of study development, the three databases are evaluated by using the model.
