With the rapid development of wireless communication and embedded system in recent years, wireless monitoring and control system is widely used in the fields of industry control, field irrigation, fire control public security, intelligent building, environment monitoring, traffic control, medical health, petroleum chemistry industry and so on.The article researches and produces an intelligent terminal based on international general ISM (Industrial Scientific and Medical) frequency band, which is combined with the small-scale greenhouse data acquisition and irrigation control. This terminal which simultaneously has wireless transceiver, data acquisition and driving control may not only conveniently construct multi-purpose wireless monitor system with PC, but also is put into use independently. The terminal which frequency band does not need be applied for has some characteristics of low-cost, easy-expanded and upgradeable. The system can meet the need of the private users as well as the smalt-scale users, so, there must be a bright future for this system.The main works of this paper can be summarized as follows:1. Analyzed the principle of available monitoring and control system, discussed their improved forms, and presented a multifunctional terminal based on ISM frequency band which simultaneously has transmission. Combining with the specific application areas, the author has designed overall structure and function of the system.2. Designed and realized system hardware of multifunctional terminal including compenent choice, fuction realization and schematic draw and so on. Concrete function module has wireless transmission, IrDA and UART communication, data acquision, driving contrl, keyboard, and display and power management and so on.3. Programmed system software of multi-purpose. The system design based on modular is written in C language. Each module provides data and instruction interface for its neighbouring module besides completing respective fuction. Flow chart and key code are given.4. Formulated communication protocol and described some anti-interference measures of system.
