With the rapid development of Internet, the transmission of network information security has become increasingly prominent. As an emerging technology in information security, information hiding is different from encryption technology, it is arousing the concern of researchers, and meanwhile the applications first emerged. One of the research priorities is using the traditional communications theory and information theory to organize the basic theoretical model of information hiding. The research of information hiding algorithm based on images, audio, text, static document is another research priorities in this areas.With the network streaming media applications growing popularity, streaming media based information hiding has unparalleled advantages comparing with static file. During last two years, information hiding based on audio streaming and video streaming has begun to be concerned about. In 2006, Professor Li Deyi made a report on "Information Hiding Technology based on Streaming media" on Conference International Information Hiding Workshop. If we call information hiding based on static file static hiding, then we can call streaming media based information hiding dynamic hiding. Streaming media based information hiding has many significant advantages : improving of the network infrastructure provides a basis for the application of information hiding based streaming media; Streaming media has huge data flow, make large-scale transmission of secret data possible; Streaming media is more secure, data will be sent immediately after it is generated. As the cover-media, randomness and non-renewable make the secret communications more secure.Streaming media based information hiding has many significant advantages, which determines the actual design of communications systems. Firstly, secret communications is covered by streaming media communications. In Streaming Media Communications, secret communications is just an application; for secret communications, Streaming Media Communications is the transmission channel. Secondly, streaming media communications channel on which secret communication rely is not reliable. Streaming media generally been packaged by public transport protocol, this protocol does not guarantee the reliability of packet transmission. If streaming media packet has lost, the secret information has lost too. Thirdly, the quantity of hiding data is far smaller than the flow of streaming media. Furthermore, streaming media is real-time, so every packet should be small, and then quantity of hiding data in packet is limited.At present, there are some hiding algorithm and transfer programmer, but the transfer programmer is related with the cover-media. It is not conducive for the operation between different cover-media, moreover, it can not guarantee the integrity of the data, and it can not meet the practical application of secret communication.For the above-mentioned problems, a model of streaming media based information hiding communication layered system is presented and carried out in this paper, which take audio data as cover-media. The model ensures the reliability of secret data transmissions, it adapts to various algorithms and applications. The system model offers guidance to research and standardization of streaming media based information hiding communication system, and the system has practical value.
