Development Of Household Digital Media Terminal Based On GodSon

With the advent of the Internet age, people can enjoy various entertainment programs and learn all kinds of knowledge, through varies of Internet services. But people also have a higher demand to the household digital media services. People need a way, in the family environment, to easily get film and television entertainment, education and training, and other digital media services. Several current mainstream media terminals can't satisfy the common demand of rural users because of there own reasons. Therefore, it is necessary to study a new program of household digital media terminal, which can meet many rural users' requirements to digital media services, and is conducive to the development of China's rural spiritual civilization.This paper has several contributions according to this specific purpose:1. We analyzed the features of rural network environment, and rural character of the media services demand. Particularly we show the advantages of using combination of cable network and internet to develop a new digital media client for family users. We also describe a current relatively mature media information service based on cable network in Zhejiang province - country officers training service.2. Based on the requirement of system design ,We concluded the key technical issues include: streaming media multicast, reliable multicast transmission technology, infrared remote control technology.3. We propose the pipeline of whole implementation based on Godson system. Particularly, we analyze, improve and transplant the open-source media player -MPlayer, which makes the media player compatible for the services of streaming media multicast from windows media server of media server system.4. Finally, we achieved a full-featured, user-friendly, user-friendly terminal prototype. We designed the graphical user interface for TV output, and supported remote control as its input using infrared remote control technology.The digital media terminal developed in this paper, has already passed the relevant professional detection test, and has run in "The distance education platform for officers in rural areas" for the demonstration applications, with positive evaluations.
