A Banking System Solution Based On IBM Mainframe

Since the first computer has been created in 1946, a new period -information epoch comes into our world. Computer evolves from mainframe to personal computer which does not mean the mainframe has quitted from computer family. The mainframe owes much of its popularity and longevity to its inherent reliability and stability, a result of careful and steady technological advances that have been made since the introduction of the System/360 in 1964. No other computer architecture can claim as much continuous, evolutionary improvement, while maintaining compatibility with previous releases.Today, mainframe computers play a central role in the daily operations of most of the world's largest corporations. While other forms of computing are used extensively in business in various capacities, the mainframe occupies a coveted place in today's e-business environment. In banking, finance, health care, insurance, utilities, government, and a multitude of other public and private enterprises, the mainframe computer continues to be the foundation of modern business.One of the most important applications of mainframe is to be the background server for banks. Almost the entire largest bank relies on the mainframe to perform large-scale transaction processing, support thousands of users and application programs concurrently accessing numerous resources, manage terabytes of information in databases and handle large-bandwidth communication.As the development of computer field, the service which banks offer to customers becomes more and more complicated. It leads to a more and more complex banking system which has a further relationship of mainframe. From the point of integer, most of banking system which rely on mainframe is holistically provided by foreign companies in china and do not have our own Intellectual property-rights.So, the developing of a mini system which owns our Intellectual property-rights for the application of bank will take great efforts in the completion of worldwide finance solution, defeating the in break of foreign technology to Chinese finance field and the transaction migration to mainframe for medium and small bank.In the Beginning of the paper, I briefly talked about the mainframe of IBM and the characters of its operation system ZOS, and then I introduced the process of CICS application based on IBM mainframe.
