The subject of this paper is selected from the military communication advance project—《Distributed Battlefield Network Management》.The research of this paper is based on the ontology in Semantic Network, context-aware in AN, and QoS support in Ad hoc. The method of the cross-layer design is used in the construction of an ontology based QoS model for MANET. Furthermore, the context ontology is utilized in the QoS ontology for enlarging information sharing and reasoning range. The main works are as follows:(1)Ontology and its application in Semantic Network are introduced, and OWL and ontology modeling are mainly centralized(2)Context in AN and the concept of context-aware are introduced, and the applications of ontology in context-aware technology are mainly centralized.(3) The QoS model, QoS supporting system, QoS route and QoS MAC are deeply analyzed.(4) Cross-layer QoS ontology is independently puted forward, evaluated, and the framework of application simulation for logic-based reasoning in a special scene is constructed.
