Middleware technology has been the research frontier in enterprise computing field. Middleware is connectivity software that consists of a set of enabling services that allow multiple processes running on one or more machines to interact across a network.Middleware provides flexible and agile environment for the development and operation of applications in order to help users to develop and integrate flexibly and efficiently complex applications.At present, telecommunication enterprises of our country have already set up the comprehensive system of computer of the telecommunication business/operation supporting system, realized to computer aid acceptance of general telecommunication service, improve the level of telecommunication service trade. However, with the constant development of the telecommunication business, the competition is becoming intensity, the frequency in new appearing business is being accelerated constantly, the whole business/operation supporting system is required to catch up with the development of the telecommunication service demands, not only can accept various kinds of telecommunication service for meeting the user's requirement, but also can offer detail and accurate user information to other subsystem of the telecommunication business/operation supporting system, run decision and submit necessary information for supporting the telecommunication enterprise. It requires fully consider the expansibility, easy safeguarding and security in the software design. Aim to enhance these abilities,middleware is provided a efficiency approach.This paper first discusses the concept, function and classification of the middleware. Presenting the of background of BSS construction and the data model of relative telecom buessiness support system, the software development which based on compents,workflow technology, the design of user infterface and the EAI.After that the paper states the theory and methodology based-on middleware technique. It discusses the popular distributed object server-side middleware standard including workflow, EAI, and J2EE . By introducing the principle of application design, process design and exception design, the author explain the system function, target and software structure. Through the three parts, use-case view, logical view.Having studied the basic middleware fundamentals, the paper applies the theory to a practical design and development telecom enterprise information system called Business Support System (BSS). The author elaborates the process of design and development of the BSS using J2EE standard based on middleware technology.After that the paper states the theory and methodology based-on middleware technique. It discusses the popular distributed object server-side middleware standard including workflow, EAI, and J2EE Having studied the basic middleware fundamentals, the paper applies the theory to a practical design and development telecom enterprise information system called Business Support System (BSS). The author elaborates the process of design and development of the BSS using J2EE standard based on middleware technology.The Telecom service has some typic characters , such as complexity in business category , high quantity level , service control complicacy etc. Workflow management is an important technology to realize controlling service process. After describes the concepts and principal of MQ Series,this paper proposes an extended model based on integrating Web service and workflow technology to support Telecom service fulfillment control and data management integration , and also gives a detailed analysis in flow grain degree , flow formula design and distributed supporting ability of Telecom service fulfillment. Finally,It gave a case about the process of a telephone order management, it shows the framework is feasible. The model can not only help Telecom enterprise to accelerate the BSS system development process and shorten the lifecycle of enterprise information system but it can significantly simplify the system complexity reducing the repeated work and maintenance workloads. Besides, The model can shield the system heterogeneity well and integrate the legacy system which exits in almost every enterprise, which saves the enterprise IT investment and effectively protect the enterprises' original IT assets. It provides an effective reference for developing BSS.
