High-performance fibers reinforced composites are widely used in vehicle armor,shelter protection,body protection fields as its high special strength,high special toughness and designable properties, and becoming the important developing direction in future ballistic resistant materials technology. But the development also meet the difficulties of too many influenced factors in performance,hard to computing while ballistic test costs much etc.This paper bring forward a new research method in ballistic resistant composites performance data analysis based on the ballistic performance database. After the logical summary and classify of important parameters of ballistic resistant composites materials, We Build a comprehensive database includes materials parameter,structural characters and performance data, and implement the functions of data saving,editing,searching and outputing by VB ADO and SQL search language.An expert system of ballistic resistant materials performance-estimating and materials selecting was established base on materials database and knowledge database, which can using the history test data in materials database and the calculative formulas,judge rules in knowledge database, realize the materials-performance and performance-materials bidirectional computing. The key part of the data-analysis system is the knowledge database which is composed of ballistic theory,experienced formulas and static data table useful in computing and judging . This data-analysis method has been used in practical application and proved to be rapid,convenient,credible,expandable in materials design and selecting, and has great effect in saving the design time,test cost and materials expense.The work of this paper develops a new fast,accurate,saving study method in ballistic resistant composites research, which is completely different from the traditional ballistic-data relied research way. By this method, we can not only save and search ballistic data of ballistic resistant composites, but also provide a data-analysis system in materials selection, make the compute-based ballistic data management and intelligent data analysis possible, so has very important meaning in both theoretic and applied aspect.
