Presently, as a new technology in Web2.0, one of the most useful network services, Blog becomes more and more popular in people's life. No matter professors, enterprisers, white collars or pupils who firstly face to internet, they are all attracted by its "private room". It provides people a platform. On this platform, people can show themselves, share their informations and resources. Now, Blog has been a new way of communication in our modern lives. But, those increasing logs also bring us a new problem, how to organize and retrieve those logs effectively? This paper will introduce a method retrieving logs based on ontology from the point of "semantic", and try to integrate the Blog and RSS technology more tightly. The 1st Chapter introduces the purpose and sense of this thesis, the current status of the research, the key points and the key innovations of this research. The 2nd Chapter specifies the RSS technology. First, introduces the most common use RSS standards and Atom standard, specifies their samenesses and distinctions. Then, analyzes the application of the RSS, mostly on RSS generation, aggregation and push service. After that, compares some RSS readers people used frequently, and summarizes the domestic application and research of the RSS technology. The 3rd Chapter emphasizes the advantage of Ontology-based information retrieval, introduces the ontology description language of OWL, which is strongly recommended by W3C organization ,then analyzes the relations between XML(S). RDF(S) and OWL. At last, from different profiles of the ontology application, evaluates the current research and experimental system of ontology-based information retrieval. The 4th Chapter introduces the prototype of this design—the open-source Weblog of Roller. First, explains the reasons of choosing Roller as prototype. Then, specifies how open-source project Struts. Hibernate, framework Tiles and the template engine velocity work in Roller. The 5th Chapter design and implements an experimental system: Onto-Roller, which is based on RSS aggregator and Ontology retrieval. The first section introduces the function, development tools and the total skeleton of this system; the second section discusses the detailed design and implementation of the main modules. The last Chapter firstly gives the conclusions of this thesis, and then summarizes the limitation of the Onto-Roller system and direct for further research and development.
