| EPON(Ethernet over Passive Optical Network)have many excellence, such as based on mature Ethernet, low cost, good compatibility, passive node, the transmission of operational transparency and build-operate-maintain low-cost. EPON represent the direction of the optical fiber technology to access and IP-based. November 2000, the IEEE formed EFM (Ethernet-in-the-First-Mile) Study Group to examine and discuss EPON technology and its standardization work. Communications network backbone of changes made EPON broadband access, and eventually became the principal means of achieving FTTH. Therefore, how to effectively manage network resources become research hot spot.The paper presented an EPON network performance management programme. Based on the characteristics of the EPON network management, system is divided into real-time, regular and historical management. Real-time management module can immediately show the immediate EPON equipment performance data; Regular collection management module can pre-set time and equipment parameters, the system can provide a period of performance charts after completion of the collection; After user set collection targets and begin servers, management modules began collecting equipment performance data. Then System can provide the long time performance curve. Using these three performance management system can be visual show EPON equipment operations, and can analysis the equipment performance trend, help users to improve the performance of EPON network.Through the use of J2EE development framework and MVC model, a good system can be made to expand and cross-platform operation. Through the RMI technology which is responsible for the communication between client and server, System has distributed resource sharing capabilities. The completion of data collection through Adventnet development kits enable system can support multiple network protocol.Finally, through the use of practical system, EPON NMS is proved functions, a good stability. |
