Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is one technology of Automatic Identification, which is used with alternative magnetic filed to realize contactless communication. RFID technology began to be developed in the 90's of last century. RFID technology appling in logistic industry, industrial process control and public service industries will improve the level of management and operational efficiency and reduce the cost.A typical Radio Frequency Identification System includes a tag, an antenna, a reader and a computer. This paper introduces the development flow of the RFID and discesses the design of multiple protocol HF-Tag Reader. The characteristics of this paper is the multiple protocol compatible design, this improves the use of Reader situation.Firstly, the system component and working principle of RFID system are discussed. The communication principle of RFID system working at the frequency of 13.56MHz is emphatially clarified. Provided the system's design idea and the integrated Structure design. Then, the hardware and software of the reader has been put forward on the basis of analysis of theory. The hardware includes the design of the reader's hardware and the antenna where the reader's hardware classifies RF send/receive circuit, MCU circuit and serial communication circuit. the software design includes the reader's software and the software on the PC, where reader's software classifies programme of RF send/receive, programme of anticollision arithmetic, programme of serial communication. Especially, there are some new algorithm about designing anticollosion. A Dynamic Mixed anti-collision algorithm and Similar-Octal-Search anti-collision algorithm is designed based on the standard of ISO/IEC15693 and the ISO/IEC14443 anticollision arithmetic. In the end, we summarize the design of the system and also introduce the prospect of the RFID system in the future.
