Plant is an important part of the nature. Fractal theory is a science newly developed inthe past 20 to 30 years. It can describe roughness and irregular geometric shapes in thenature or in non-linear system. Along with the deep research of fractal, simulation of plantshapes plays an important role in computer game, virtual reality, CAI, artificial intelligence,agriculture and forestry research etc. and has had a wide application in these areas.Referencing the foregoer's research achievements, on the basis of mastering LS andIFS classic algorithms, this thesis explores and gives out a new algorithm which combinesboth LS and IFS, vividly drawing some plant shapes; this thesis also referencing the classicfractal evolutional DLA algorithm, and explores a new method which adds someinterference information to the algorithm getting the decorative forest effect. If modifyingthe parameters to generate the fractal plant, demonstrating system can simulate the plant'sdynamic growing course.This thesis takes advantages of Visual C++ 6.0 better user interface and powerfulgraphic programming technique. The thesis has realized the interactive software todemonstrate the simulation of fractal plant shapes. Using the fractal theory to the design ofcomputer graphics, it can not only simulate fractal plant shapes but also realize a perfectcombination between computer and arts.
