Research On Remote Approval System Based On GSM SMS

With the development and improvement of the society informatization, more andmore units of public security department set up information system in order toimprove official working, business efficiency and ability. There are a large number ofapproval links in this information system. Because of some departments such as somepolice units have special tasks, the approving men have to do their works outside theoffice and unable to approve the application through the local network. Those statusescame into conflict with the needs of information system flows. Therefore, informationsystem needs a way to carry on remote approval. According to Ministry°of PublicSecurity's request, police network can't connect with Internet and wireless network.The police network needs a remote approval to improve the workflow of informationsystem.It is effective way to realize the remote approval based GSM SMS. At present,GSM phone is very popularity, especially most GSM phone have the function ofJAVA that it can execute JAVA program. J2ME (Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition)becomes the most popular platform of mobile phone application research anddevelopment, it provides a realizing way for mobile phone to program the widerapplication.In ESTI SMS standards, the ones that involved SMS receiving and transmittingare GSM 03.38, GSM 03.40 and GSM 07.05. The former two have described therealization of SMS (including code way), the latter has described DTE-DCE interfacestandard (AT orders) of SMS. We can use computer to link the standardized GSMphone or GSM phone module to transmit or receive programed SMS messages byGSM AT in orders to exchange information with goal of GSM phone.The remote approval system using GMS SMS is researched in thesis. Itrecommended SMS foundation and technology to receive and transmit SMS throughGSM AT orders at first, and the whole framework of J2ME and characteristic ofJ2ME technology. We analyzed the main way to implement remote approval system through GSM SMS, designed a systematic frame of this system and discussed the keypans of research and development to front and back of system. At last, weimplemented all functions of the remote approval system based on GSM SMS.
