LED panel systems gains rapid development in the design, machine and application from ninetites ages. It went through from single color and two colors to image LED panel. As a high technology production, LED panel can realize real time and sequential displaying texture, graghic and images. LED panel has many special feature such as high reliability, long life, high performance, low cost, and more important high acclimatization. Moreover, with the technique of color panel perfect increasingly, LED panel is widely used in many fields.The core technique for a LED panel is mainly centralized on its controller. At present, the majority of asynchronous display panel use the 8 or the 16 micro- controllers, because the processing speed, the system construction, the addressing scope, the periphery connection resources and so on many limits, in request demonstration many picture elements, the demonstration content frame frequency has been with difficulty high, in the dynamic demonstration effect complex situation, obtains the good dynamic visual effect.In view of above situation, This paper redesign and developed one kind new display system. It's composed by 32 high performance ARM microprocessor. The control platform, hardware structure and software implementation of the LED panel controller are analyzed and designed.According to the LED panel of the railway, bus station passenger guides system, combining with the LPC2138 function characteristic and the LED panel function demand, this paper detail introduced main module design such as the power source module, the reset module, the RS485 communication circuit and so on,realized successfully functions of LED display screen such as scanning , data sending , data communicating. This paper introduced the LED panel communication and the control system software development flow, combined with the RS485 communication agreement and the system display request. And detail introduced software flowage of the LED panel static, dynamic display.Finally this article analyzed several difficult questions in the LED panel control system research and development, Including: enhance the RS485 bus reliability and the anti-jamming question, the system halt question in replacing frequently content, the visions effect question in displaying too many content, And gave out solution.The experiment results indicated that the method was favorable for the stability and efficiency of the whole system. The system was easy in maintenance and updating, and enjoys high performance/price ratio.
