The Design And Development Of VOD System Of Web-based Campus Intranet

Video-on-demand (VOD) system, an increasingly improved multimediaapplication system, is a network system comprising both hardware and software,with the main advantage that the video server can transfer to the users' sitesmultichannel and parallel transmitted real-time streaming video dataaccording to the users' requirements. VOD system, an interactive system, isa comprehensive system developed fast with the computer technology,especially with the technology improvement of multimedia data compression anddecompression, and of network communication.VOD system is widely used in school learning and entertainment, such asteaching, digital library, campus news-on-demand, campus electronic businessconsumption, and campus entertainment programs-on-demand, etc. It is of greatpractical value to colleges and universities.This thesis attempts to supply a detailed and comprehensive design of VODsystem of web-based campus intranet after thoroughly analysing the keytechnologies involved.
