Distributed Cluster Storage System Based On Embedded IP Storage Technology

The success of Client/Server Architecture promotes the ability of server to a new height,which overstep the level that storage equipment and its linked module support. At present,most requirements for storage space are solved by hardware resources such as disk array,CD storeroom and so on,but this kind of equipments are expensive, moreover the accretion of storage room will make the speed of search slow. Aiming at the storage problem of network service system,This article proposes a method that combines embedded technology and network storage, establishs a network storage system based on embedded IP disk array and distributed file system on server,and introduces network software RAID to guarantee the performance of error tolerance.The following are the technology courses this article introduces:the NDFS file system module in Linux OS on host server takes charge of organizing and managing all of the embedded IP disks,in this module,applying the Information Dispersal Algorithm to implement redundancy and parallel access of files,and register the module in VFS,so that the applicat program can read and write files on embedded IP disks pellucidly.The following are the idiographic jobs:constructing and designing of the main data structure and process of NDFS file system module, providing realization method and main frame for the storage managing software on host server;designing and realizing hardware and software of the embedded IP disk.The hardware part includes the choice of processor and external circuit chip,the design of each functional and integer electro-circuit,and hardware debugging. The software part mainly includes transplant of the bootloader,linux kernel and application, besides includes design of root filesystem.The implement of embedded IP disk has been tested in LAN environment,its performance achieve anticipative target of transmission speed,and it has some strongpoints compared to NAS equipment base on universal computer such as small volume,convenient install and high expansibility,low cost and so on.
