The Design And Implement Of The Embedded Access Point & Station Adapter Configuration Management Platform

With the fast development and wide application of wired network, the wireless network with such features as amazing flexibility and efficiency is also developing fast. Wireless network conquers the barrier of the cable, and is replacing the wired network in many places. At the same time, the embedded system is leaping ahead with the development of computer hardware, semiconductor and communication technology. The combination of embedded technology and wireless communication technology can meet the request of mobile wireless application better. The subway wireless communication system studied here is the typical application of the technology.The subway wireless communication system is used to watch the subway running situation dynamically. The wireless LAN according to 802.11b standard is composed of STA(the wireless communication terminal in subway)and AP(access point device erected on the tunnel coast). The management computer works as how to watch and manage the parameters of AP and STA in real time to get or change the subway running parameters, which is researched herein.Based on Linux, a software used to watch and manage such equipments as AP, STA in subway wireless communication system was designed and implemented, according to the project requirement. What is to be watched and managed includes wireless equipment parameters, IP address configuration parameters in Network layer as well as the AP status, STA linking status in real time. The configuration management system supports two interactive modes, Client/Server and Browser/Server, to make the system adaptable in any embeded system with different computing ability. In the C/S mode, this paper gives a communication platform to separate the low level communicate protocols and high level management layer; In the B/S mode, this paper use the Boa Web Server and CGI interface to handle all processes that browsing and configure parameters in client, very friendly for user. The outdoor tests show that, the system can do the configuration management to the AP and STA equipments by C/S and B/S in the stillness and running modes of subway.
