Design And Implementation Of Embedded Video Server Based On WLAN

In this dissertation, based on the intensive analysis of embedded system and wireless local area network(WLAN), the research is focused on some key techniques of using the embedded CPU Motorola Coldfire5307 and uClinux operation system to develop the software/hardware platforms for embedded equipment. The software/hardware platforms of some kind of embedded video surveillance server based on WLAN are designed and realized. Moreover, the application software is accomplished, according to the functions of the video surveillance server for digital networks.This dissertation is divided into five chapters as followings.In chapter 1, the background of the research task and the architecture of this dissertation is introduced.In chapter 2, a typical application scene of the video surveillance server used in a video surveillance system is illustrated and a scheme of embedded video surveillance server is put forward.In chapter 3, some concepts and technical features of WLAN and embedded systems are briefly introduced and the reasons for choosing uClinux is also explained. This chapter gives intensive study and analysis on the embedded uClinux operation system, including the uClinux kernel and some essential techniques in software development.In chapter 4, the implementation of the hardware and software platform for embedded video surveillance server are discussed in detail, including the scheme for analog video signals decoding and digital video signals coding, circuit design, uClinux porting and the development of the device driver for MPEG-4 encoder chip.In chapter 5, the implementation scheme of application software for the embedded video surveillance sever is firstly described. Then the realization of the CGI program, the program of video data transmission over network and the main program is analyzed in detail. Furthermore, how to develop safe CGI program and packet filter firewall in uClinux is also presented for the system security requirtment.
