Wireless Local Area Network's Application In Embedded System

The 21st century is the epoch of information,it is the flourishment of wireless communication. At present,the wireless communication is still in the age of persona to persona,and it begins to transit to the age of persona to device and device to device gradually.Along with the age's coming,more and more embedded devices long for breaking away from cables and possess the ability of wireless communication with persona or devices.So the technology of short-haul wireless communication play important roles in it ,such as WLAN, Blue Tooth etc.The Embedded WLAN application system which syncretizes of embedded technology and WLAN has outstanding ability of wireless communication which is the development hotspot now and in the future.The article has a research on ARM MPU(Micro Processor Unit) architecture; Board's Bootloader design; Embedded Linux core migration on MPU; USB device driver's development;TCP/IP protocols'migration ; application programs' development ; the keystone is Embedded WLAN card design, its driver and configure programme's development;because they are the key to realize wireless communication.First,the status quo and correlative new technology of Wireless Local Area Network are described in the article,and has a research of the functions of WLAN in the wireless communication of Embedded System.Then,the article designs a whole structure of software and hardware which WLAN is used in embedded system.The keystone of hardware's circuit is on designing the master board used by S3C2410X MPU and Embedded WLAN card which designed independently by SIS163U,the master board and Embedded WLAN card is connected by the USB port. Baseing on the hardware's design, the software's design builds cross compiling environment, designs relevant Board's Bootloader,migrate Embedded uCLinux operation system,adds USB bus driver and USB host driver to Linux's configure, develop USB device driver, especially Embedded WLAN card driver's development , WLAN card's configure programme's development basing on the research of WLAN card's firmware and WLAN API in Linux,and TCP/IP protocol's realise make wireless communication be possible. Finally it designs application program to test the function of the system and applies it to long-distance metering system of electrical system successfully.At the present time,WLAN is limited to notebook which using in Hotspot,or PC which accesses to Internet with WLAN cards,so it's scope is very small.The Embedded WLAN application system which brings WLAN into Embedded System make Embedded System have the ability of wireless communication too,then it can be used wider field such as industrial field, civila rea and commercial area etc,which is also distinct feature of this article.It makes Embedded System have the ability of wireless communication by TCP/IP protocols' migration, WLAN card driver's design etc.
