With the development of IT and the improvement of the production and management in the enterprises,a large number of knowledge has been accumulated. At the present, it is urgent that how to make use of these knowledge effectively in the enterprises. As a result, the idea of proactive knowledge service system based on ontology and workflow is studied to solve this problem.Firstly, present research on ontology and knowledge service is introduced, and the problems of the current knowledge service are analyzed. After systematically summarizing the framework of proactive knowledge service system based on ontology and workflow, each part of this framework is described in detail, and the key techniques and the service process of the system are also presented. Secondly, on the basis of studying business process meta-model, the ontology technology is used in the integration of the enterprises'knowledge source, and the business process knowledge requirement model is advanced. Moreover, the self-study process and the self-study algorithm of the business process knowledge requirement model are also raised. Thirdly, the definition of user profile based on ontology is put forward, and the self-study process of this model is described. The user knowledge realtime self-study algorithm and the user knowledge phase self-study algorithm are studied in depth. At last, the implementation of the proactive knowledge service system based on ontology and work is primarily given out with the open source workflow of the Enhydra Shark project, and it is primarily applied to a specific project. The result shows that this method can effectively solve the problems of the low efficiency of knowledge sharing and retrieval, and improve the availability factor of knowledge in the enterprises.
