An Analysis On American Newsweek's Reports On Kosovo War

With the sample analysis, agenda analysis, and picture analysis on American Newsweek's reports on Kosovo war, this thesis argues that there exists a cognitive road map guiding Newsweek's reports on this issue.To find out the reason for the existence of the cognitive road map, this thesis tries to research on three levels. On the macro level or national level, this thesis analyzes the fundamental believes of American, the fundamental rules of American media, the tradition of "Consistent in War". On the middle level or trade level, this thesis analyzes the credenda and hidden rules in American media circle. On the micro level or staff member level, this thesis analyzes the concrete operation of American media and the concrete condition of Newsweek. All the factors on these three levels formed a composite effect on this magazine's reports on Kosovo war.
