A Research On B/S-Based Science Research Evaluation System

With the rapid development of computer technology, networktechnology and database technology as well as the sharp increase ofscience and technology information, more and more science researchmanagement information systems (SRMIS) based on Browse/Server(B/S) have been put into the daily science research and management.With the support of these systems, science research and managementhave become more standardized, systematic and feasible; released fromthe fussy affairs, personnel are able to involve in some macro andinnovative management, thus create more social wealth throughinstitutional and managerial innovationAccording to the applicable scope, SRMIS can be divided intointegrated science research management information system and specialscience research management information system. The ScienceResearch Evaluation System, this paper focuses on, is just a specialresearch management information system, which is based on B/S. Thedevelopment of this system is a combination of various network anddatabase technologies. It is totally in line with the Science ResearchEvaluation Regulation in term of demand analysis, system design andsystem enforcement. Taking full consideration of the extension of thesystem when it is designed, this evaluation system allows an extensionfrom a special science research management information system to anintegrated one under little change. The successful development of thesystem has completely realized the informatization of the whole processof science research evaluation, updated the level of informatization andmade a meaningful attempt for the development of integrated scienceresearch management information system.
