With the high-speed development of Internet and multimedia technology, people have become more and more extensive use of video and video information is playing an increasingly important role in social development and people's lifestyle. Compared with analog video, digital video has some advantages, such as convenience store, image quality, facilitating the provision of new services, easy editing. Especially with the development of broadband network technology and video compression algorithm, digital video application will work throughout our life in all its aspects in the future.The purpose of this subject is to design a video information collection system based on FPGA, realizing video information collection, storage, display and transmission. In this system, I am mainly responsible for the hardware and software design of video information collection system. Firstly, this text has introduced the significance and status quo of video information collection system in the domestic and foreign markets at present and puts forward a total project of a video information collection system based on FPGA. Choose the Altera's FPGA chip, the 8MBite SRAM, the image sensor chip, the Parallel to USB chip etc, draw the SCH and PCB diagram and complete hardware weld and debug.Thirdly, design the software of the video information collection system with the Altera's development tools, MAX+PLUSâ…ˇ. Mainly, implement the system functions with VerilogHDL in the EP1K30TC144 chip. The VerilogHDL program includes the SRAM read-write IP module, SCCB Bus allocation IP module, USB transmit IP module, LCD display IP module and some control modules. Finally validate the entire system. The video image displays vivid in the 640 x 480 color LCD screen and the 320 x 240 ARM2410 Development Board's Color LCD.The video information collection system we have studied can be widely applied to video controlling, information household appliances, intellectual district etc. The video information collection system can be applied to more widely field after further development and perfecting.
