Research And Application Of DVB Card In Linux Operating System

With the unprecedented development of digital signal processing technology, and account for the numerous and inherent merits of digital broadcasting, all kinds of new digital broadcasting services are now in flourish. Since TV broadcasting is under transformation from analog to digital in China, the application of DVB will has a great future. This thesis does much of the research on the implementation of receiving DVB transport stream in Linux operating system, and eventually realizes the system in Linux kernel version 2.6.Firstly, the development traits and predominance of digital TV, as well as the background of researching digital TV card are discussed in the thesis; also, the feasibility of the project in the realm of both market and technic is expatiated.Secondly, the rationale of digital TV receiving system and the implementation of the system in the Linux operating system are discussed in the theses. First, the DVB standard, which is one of the most popular standards in the world and is accepted as the digital TV standard in China, is introduced. Base on DVB standard, a new transpoart stream receiving and processing architecture and the hardware architecture of the whole system are proposed. Second, after the brief introduction of Linux operating system, the thesis mark off the software system to several hiberarchies based on the transformmation of data in the system and the differing function modules, and introduces the software architecture of the whole system. Third, how to develop the Device Driver under Linux operating system is discussed, and with the PCI Bus standard that is used in the digital TV receiving system, the implementation of the system in detail and some issues which should pay attention to are discussed.Thirdly, the key technologys of receiving transport stream are analysed, the modules and arithmetics of the key techniques which realize the system are offered. Then, the running instance of the system is analysed. Two kinds of evaluating arithmetics which can evaluate the system are introduced.Finally, the summarization of the whole work during the design and development is generalized; the improvement of the system in the future is also discussed in the end.
