Streaming media has brought so many conveniences to the most users on the website, and to the broadcasting of audio-files and video-files, but this also might be copied and distributed without permission. A new technology protecting media files will be needed to ensure the benefit of content providers. DRM is a new way to do some work with rights, and then can protect the rights of the media files. This article introduces the theory of stream media DRM and analyses the application of Microsoft DRM technology.Stream media broadcasting is for many SPs crucial business, and DRM plays an important role in it, it protects the rights of the media files, maintain the profit of the CPs, and also achieve the functions such as recording the charge.I did the work through the whole system building up, from applying for the Microsoft DRM SDK to finishing the DRM system and put it on the company's website. This article simply introduced the stream media DRM system: At first, talk about the background in which the DRM bringing. In the third paragraph, describe the DRM system in detail, including three parts, the package part, the license distribution part and the database part. The next paragraph gives two Demos, one is from the company's website characterize the pre-delivery mode, the other come out of my simple DRM demo, shows the way the License request delivery works. In the fifth paragraph, give a little analysis about stream media DRM. Since the release of DRM must arouse the breaking about it, we'll look at the software against it, FreeMe and FairUse4WM.
