Electrocardiogram (ECG) is a bioelectric signal produced by myocardial contractility and can show the changes of physiological action in heart. It finds broad application in clinical medicine because it is easy to check on and can is directly perceived. In 1906, the first ECG machine was used in clinical medicine, since that, all kinds of ECG monitor instruments emerged in an endless stream.At present, the key to design and develop the multi-functional ECG monitor products still depends on the advanced techniques and ways to process the Electrocardiogram. The subject for the author's study is to apply FPGA techniques to develop the Electrocardiogram machine. That is to say that the"chip on system"of FPGA replaces the complex system of DSP and the CPU, which was used in existing ECG monitor instruments and thus develop an ECG monitor instrument based on FPGA to collect, process, review, memory and communicate and show signals.In order to build a test platform for processing the ECG signal, the topic has firstly designed a pre-amplific circuit . which mainly consists of the AD620 amplifying circuit., band pass Filter Circuit, 50Hz notch filter, right floating ground drivering circuit, principal magnifying circuit and potential raising circuit. It is mainly to collect available signals from the heart and enhance the signal to noise rate and then apply FPGA techniques to acquire and process the signals, which includes three functions such as data acquisition system controlled by FPGA, FIR low pass filter , and FPGA adaptive filter. The role of data acquisition system are to acquire signals by applying A/D chip ADC0809 that is controlled by FPGA and make transition analogue signals into digital signals. FIR low pass filter of FPGA, and FPGA adaptive filter are used to process data and thus get desirable electrocardiogram.
