Research And Implementation Of WSRF-based Multimedia Grid Information Service System

At present, the grid technology is developing rapidly. There are a variety of grids such as computing grid, data grid, information grid, service grid. With the emergence of WSRF, the service grid is becoming more and more important. The information service is a key component of a grid system. The main functionalities of the information service include information registration, discovery, query and modification. Because the multimedia service is a long-running and QoS-oriented service, the current grid information service models are not suitable for multimedia grid. Hence, it is necessary to build a new grid information service model for multimedia applications.First, the paper analyzes the important role of WSRF protocol in the development of grid architecture. Then, it reviews current mature grid information management system models focusing on the features of multimedia application. We propose a WSRF-based multimedia grid information service model. According to this model, we design and develop a grid information management system. Finally, we apply the system to build BUPT Grid, the experimental results show that our system is with great practical value.
