PoC(Push-To-Talk over Cellular) is a new voice service underlying GPRS network and operational environment. It is a new real-time direct one-to-one and one-to-many voice communication service in the cellular network. With push to talk, calls can be started to both individuals and talk groups with just a push of a key. OMA defined that the PoC core Network is based on SIP/IP core. At the same time, it brings the bug of authentication. PoC user may be billed for the usage of PoC service of another subscriber in case where PoC settings in the terminal are not removed before handing over the phone to someone else.In this solution, MSISDN is used for authentication instead of standard username and password. This would also solve the problem of distribution of password as the MSISDN authentication is secure enough so the username / password don't need to be used and the password can be default. This paper introduces the way to invent authentication proxy which can authenticate the user's MSISDN over PoC system. The Authentication proxy extracts IP address and MSISDN from the user name. Authentication Proxy will then query the RADIUS server using IP address to check if the MSISDN from username matches with MSISDN from RADIUS. If they match, then login is allowed; If they don't match, the login will be rejected. At the end of paper, we give the impersonal evaluation of the authentication proxy. With this solution, it made the authentication of PoC service more safety and trustiness.
