The development of the very large-scale integrated circuit make the packages of the IC having becoming smaller and smaller. These changes brought not only convenience in circuit design, but also some difficulty: a large amount of nodes that in IC or function blocks can't be detected, and this made circuit debug more difficult than before. The traditional chip debugging implement and method are excessively dependent on stretches a foot, and this can not only work regularly under processor whit high speed operation , but also occupies certain system resources , and also can not carry out a testing on inside of hardware either.But at present, some inside controls of the high-end embedded processor which was used broadly and the signal of inside memory does not embody in the foot of outside. Thereby, the debugging implement of traditional has been brought extremely large challenge, this need more advanced debugging technology and implement right away to fit it. Grand scale IC chip that every important company produces at present is almost all having the boundary scan structure. Therefore the method making use of boundary scan structure to carry out a debugging on system arises at the historic moment. One kind of USB2.0-based emulator for TI Company's DSPs has been designed in this thesis. This system is centering on USB controller CY7C68013, and accomplishing the simulated function by the fact that ACT8990 realizes the IEEE1149.1 agreement.At first this thesis gives the background and current situation of the boundary scan technology. Then the boundary scan international standard IEEE1149.1 and the USB interface and the WDM driver have been introduced simply and necessaryly. Choose some specific ICs for this controller by the bases above, and adopt CY7C68013 and its allocation chip EEPROM to accomplish the function of the USB interface, and adopt ACT8990 to accomplish the function of boundary scan, and adopt CPLD EPM3032A to accomplish some logic function and some circuit for keeping secret of this controller have been designed. And then this thesis have discussed the firmware designs of CY7C68013, and making use of Windows DDK to develop the driver for loading the firmware and the driver for controller. Final the research work for this controller has been summed up, and some improving ideas and the develop trend for this controller have been discussed.After tested, this controller has a correct function, according with design request and has some advantages such as plug and play, doesn't need extern power, easy connection, and so on.
