George Ernest Morrison (1862-1920), Peking correspondent of The Times from the yearl897tol912, and political advisor to the President of Yuan Shikai, 1912-1920o In 1894, Morrison came to China, as the first time, and his began the adventure trip. In 1895, he published his book An Australian in China .Since then, he formed a deep bond with China. The Legation Quarter was besieged by the Boxers and the Chinese government troops on June 20 1900. Morrison played an active role during the siege, and sent the first telegram of help. Morrison himself was wounded on July 16. People outside misrepresented that he was killed. The Times even published an editorial and obituaries concerning his death. As a consultant in the new government, he participated in the process of consolidating the rule of Yuan Shikai., helped the Chinese government, to antagonize the Japanese political blackmail-"21 item", and promoted China to join in the European war and against Yuan Shikai to act as emperor. At the end of the Boxer Rebellion, he was already considered as the most experienced and prominent veteran of the China issues in the Western reporters in China.The purpose of this study is to fully display his activities as a reporter in China; He took part in many major events in China, therefore, making an objective evaluation activity on his activities in china.The innovation of this study is to study his activities as a reporter through his articles that published on "The Times" during 1897-1920, as where as his news reports an objective evaluation.
