Abstract: Nowadays, computer technology has been widely applied in teachingfield. It is one of the most achievements on the development of education at latter of lastcentury, and also represents the current education modernizes. One of the typical 3Dvisual software 3ds max has applied in the development of the educational software,people start to pay more attention to its built-in programming language (i.e. MAXScript)offered for user by 3ds max. The MAXScript language is specifically designed tocomplement 3ds max. Meanwhile, it is also one kind of the object-orientedprogramming languages. MAXScript is rich enough to carry out all functions of the 3DStudio MAX, including modeling, animation, material construction, rendering and so on.According to the 3ds max commands, the customer can write a procedure segment torealize their own needs. The 3D animation created by MAXScript, is not only perfect inits quality, but also largely enhanced in the creation of animation. For example,MAXScript is well suited to working out large collections of stars. Each of them isdiffered from the other, and its position must accord with a certain mathematics curve.But it's difficult to work out the product in traditional way. Therefore, this paperexamines and discusses the research and application of the MAXScript language.The main target of this study is to develop a galaxy model by using MAXScriptunder 3ds max and the Windows XP operating system. This model can be demonstratedvividly in the multimedia teaching. In this way, teachers can better and more efficientlydesign their teaching. There are three parts: First, the study points out the currentproblem of the multimedia teaching resources. Along with the development, applicationand research of the 3ds MAX Script, it analyzes the foreground of MAXScript languagein the application of the educational technology field. Then, this language will apply tothe development of the galaxy model. The author gives more details on the wholeestablished process. The usage of that tool make multimedia teaching turn fromtwo-dimensional level into the three-dimension, and at last, the user interface created byMAXScript language can provides a simple human-computer interface.In the first part, it describes a brief overview of the current situation and problem of the multimedia teaching resources and the development clew, research andapplication of the development tools, prospects its application in educational technologyfield. Through the studies of MAXScript, including its concept, function, developmentof type, run and basic operation, we can decide the object which may fully utilized thecharacteristic of the MAXScript language.Based on the studies of 3ds max and MAXScript, the second part mainlyinvestigates the galaxy model in the practical aspect, such as the structure of object,modeling, materials, lighting rendering and animation, script prepared and debugging.The third part create user interface that allows model of simple human-computerinterface by MAXScript language.According to the production of 3D teaching materials, we produce the 3D modelby MAXScript language. In this way, we overcome the shortcomings of the generalgeometric modeling methods and the low efficiency of the manual model. We can alsogenerate large-scale galaxy model automatically and solve the problems that can not beachieved in manual. And the program is simple and program interface is friendly, thus,it will convenient to produce the various complex structures and animation. This modelcould be run under 3ds max with user interface, having a human-computer interface. Inaddition, it can also be broadcasted by media player for interacting with a computercode the.ms directly as .avi code. It can be demonstrated vividly in the multimediateaching. In this way, teachers can better and more efficiently design their teaching indetail, and get better teaching results.In short, we create the teaching materials along with 3ds max script language. Itprovides students a sufficient space to imagine and think, cultivates students' studyinterest, arouses their enthusiasm, and inspires students to learn independently. Thescript can be shared via the Internet. Teachers can use this script to create galaxy modeleasily. Thus, it can save a large amount of time and improve work efficiency and avoidduplication of efforts.
