Research And Implementation Of The Sensor Network Gateway Based On Web

Sensor networks is a new research area of computer science and technology. Sensor network, which is made by the convergence of sensor, micro-electro-mechanism system and networks technologies, is a novel technology about acquiring and processing information.Currently, researches on sensor management, query, and data dissemination are actively progressing in a number of research projects. While Sensor networks should not exist alone if they would be put int practice actually. Gateway must be applied to connect other nets suck as Internet, local area network (LAN) or the nets in the corporation so that users could access remotely to data of senser networks.In general, it is widely accepted that web-based management should be used for managing and querying sensor networks. It is because web-based network management scheme has some advantages in that the Internet has flexibility, facility of development, and convenience of access. Most of all, to achieve the web-based sensor network management, sensor networks should be connected to the Internet, and a gateway placed between a wireless sensor network and the fixed Internet plays an important role of connecting two networks.This paper stems from the cooperative project of Chongqing,"Establishment of water environment security early warning platform in the Yangtse Gorges and research on key technologies of scientific decision", This paper plans to study the architecture of sensor networks, embedded Web Server, embedded Database, embedded OS and embedded gateway system, and then presents a design of wireless sensor network gateway and a management mode. This gateway uses microprocessor AT91ARM9200 as the core chip, GoAhead WebServer as the embedded WebServer, Sqlite as the embedded database. We implement the interaction between WebServer and Web browser through CGI,and achieve the reception and analysis of serial data using multithread program based on Linux.This gateway has many advantages such as faster data-collecting, faster running-speed, credibility and so on. It can effectively achieve the management, storage and query of the data from the wireless sensor network.
