The Design And Implementation Of Embedded Home Gateway Based On ARM

High-tech products began to come into our daily life constantly, home informationization becomes an inevitable tendency. Home informationization means connect all the family equipment and electronics together with the help of a special device, and founds an intellectualized home network, In this case, we can visit and control the equipments in our house according to the Internet. Because of the lack of such a device (Embedded Home Gateway) at present, makes the electronic equipments can't form into an intellectualized home network. The Embedded Home Gateway is the core device and platform that used to form a home network and make all the electronic devices connect with each other.The main traits of the Embedded Home Gateway is: facing the specific application, strong demands for security and reliability, and low cost and so on. Many kinds of Home Gateway have been invented at home and abroad, but it's not fit for ordinary families because of its high cost. It's often process the data in form of file in the meantime, it makes the data can be modified, deleted, replaced incautiously, the security of data is not guaranteed.Based on the above conditions, a new and low cost design scheme of Home Gateway, which based on the development platform of ARM-Linux, was put forward in this paper. ARM and Linux was used as the soft and hardware platform in the design scheme, and also the embedded database was used to manage the data of Home Gateway for improving its security. Also another construction scheme of wireless home network which based on nRF24L01 was proposed.The key problems focused on how to implement an Embedded Home Gateway with low cost and high quality were researched in this paper. First, doing some analysis on the research background, actuality and development trend of the Embedded System and Embedded Home Gateway, shows the significance of the research in this paper. In the next, build the development platform of the Home Gateway, besides the design of the hardware of Home Gateway and the soft development platform. Do research on its core hardware, and design the hardware circuit; Make a research on the U-Boot and Linux OS, then build a software development platform, including the transplantation of Linux OS and the making of the root file system. Again, design the software of Embedded Home Gateway. Do research on the embedded web server BOA, CGI and also the embedded database SQLite, and achieving the function of the Home Gateway. Last, Test and analyze the function of Embedded Home Gateway which designed in this paper, then introduce what will be done in the next stage.
