A mobile ad hoc network(MANET) is a multi-hop temporary autonomous system of mobile nodes equipped with wireless transceivers and receivers. It has been a research focus in current network research. Nevertheless, each node in MANET can be regarded as either a computer or a router and the nodes in MANET are battery-operated. To reduce energy consumption, extend network lifetime and build a reliable, effective and fast network, research on multi-performance parameters protocols is critical for ad hoc networks. This paper mainly discusses tradeoff energy and other network performance parameters routing protocols in MANET.The paper presents a Balance Evaluation Function (BEF) according to the communication information. BEF considers the history information of every node, including the packet numbers of data transmission, the dropped packet numbers, the control packet numbers, the selected route times, the hops of route and so on. Presents a novel reactive Balance of Energy and Other network performance Parameters routing protocol (BEOP) for mobile Ad Hoc networks. In this route scheme, the nodes of BEF value below a threshold are selected for route. The protocol can balance network performance. The simulation results show that BEOP can offer superior network performance comparing with DSR and MBCR.Based on the research of ad hoc multicast protocols, we find that some mesh-based multicast routing protocols such as ODMRP has low data forwarding efficiency, high overhead and high energy consumption. The paper proposes an enhanced ad hoc multicast routing protocol(BPMP), which is based on ODMRP. The protocol presents a new method to calculate the balance Evaluation function(BEF). BEF collects some communication information, remain energy of every node, and Link Expiration Time which get by a method of Prediction-based Link Availability Estimation. According to the function, BPMP modifies the selected way of forwarding group node. The simulation results show that BPMP can offer superior network performance comparing with ODMRP.
