Automatically Switched Optical Networks (ASON) bring control plane into traditional optical transport network. It is broadly focused because it not only can support the automatical establishment of wavelength connection but also the dynamic distribution of the network resource. The mechanism of ASON brings new challenge to the traditonal network management. It becomes one of the hot but difficult points to design and implement the network management system of intelligent optical network.Based on the key project (the protocol stack of ASON control plane), the main research work completed in this dissertation are listed as follows:1. Take a general analyzation and introduction to the development of ASON technology and control plane stacks.2. Do research on the characters of ASON management plane; analyze the basic functional requirements of the manangement. Also in order to have the theoretic introduction of implementing the management to control plane we analyze the management requirements of bringing control plane into ASON in details.Based on the analyzation of ASON management requirements we establish the ASON module of manangement inforamtion and abstract the objects.3. Research on the architecture of EMS (Element Management System) and implement the EMS of the stacks of ASON control plain.Give introductions to the design of the software platform, the graphics user interface (GUI) and functions. 4. Build a fully platform of protocol stacks of ASON control plain with both softwares and hardwares. Fulfill funtions of the automatic finding, service control, inquirement and so on by the ASON EMS.
