While the network plays a more and more important role in our society,lots of people prefer to get the information. Not only the professional astronomical researchers wish to remotely controle the telescope,observate star images and analyze datas;but also the amateurs wish to download or watch the spherical pictures and videos on real-time demand. So the National Astronomy Observatory needs to build a streaming system platform,which could process the still images and videos to fit for the network transmission and make them demand by the clients,so as to meet both needs of professional research and public interests.Astronomy is science building on observation,it request very high quality of images and other datas,and files are always very large,but the network bandwidth is limited,so the streaming system has to meet both needs of observation and network. For the professional research,the security of data transmission is also very important.This paper presents how to construct a streaming system platform and why we choose these schemes. The main content can be described as follows:Firstly,it is present the researchment of still image compress codecs,of which we selected one to fit the star images and improved it. The target is to rase the lossless compress ratio as high as possible to fit the network condition.Secondly, it is present the researchment of video formats, of which we selected one to fit the spherical video compression and the whole streaming system architecture.Thirdly, it is present the researchment of the current main streaming systems ,of which we selected one to fit the demand of real-time or non real-time of still images or videos, the data transmission and alternation,the live monitoring,etc.Fouthly, it is present the researchment of the main security methods and arithmetics of encryption, and the design of several schemes for different condition.Lastly, it is present a software tool developing on the Windows Media SDK, which could stream the still star images to a video stream on real-time or not, and broadcast or push it to a certain server port,and then could be demanded by clients at the same time.Finally,we built a streaming system platform for the National Astronomy Observatory,which couled compress the still star images and videos,which could be broadcast and be ordered on real-time demand. It also includes remote monitor,security scheme,and a software which could stream the still star images into a video and push it to the network at the same time. All these work we have done is the first innovation in all the inland astronomy systems,and make great contribution to the National Astronomy Network System.
