Logistics is the whole process of planning, carrying out and management to move the raw materials, semi-manufactured goods, finished products and the corresponding information from their producing area to the places they will be consumed. In order to satisfy the customers, the costs should be the lowest, and logistics is finished through such ways as transporting, storing and delivering. Logistics includes different parts, such as transporting, storing, packaging, delivery, load and unload, circulating and processing.Relative to logistics industry in the developed countries, logistics industry in China has just started, and the primary points are that, firstly, enterprise logistics is still the keystone in the social logistics, and special logistics services have little bit clues. It tells us that the developing level of these activities is very low, and we have to enhance the internal logistics' management. Secondly, special logistics enterprises are becoming more and more, diversification logistics has some development. Above all, walk out from the traditional logistics mode focused on self-service, and develop the third party logistics, are what we have to do right now. This thesis is focused on the designs and implementation of logistics information system based on railway transportation. First, we analyze the characteristics of the logistics enterprises based on railway, and some solutions mentioned by some internal enterprises. Then introduce some key technologies for the system implementation. Then based on the project study, I introduce the system's designing plan, and the process of the system's implementation, and last, some ways of optimizing performance are brought out.
