Design And Implementation Of Education Resource Management Based On Scorm Standard

With the development of modern information techonology, Distance Education is a new type of education, which biggest advantage is the sharing of education resources. Education resource is the prerequisite and foundation of distance education, and the core is building education resources. The main task of resource organizer is to provide efficient storage and management of resources, high quality education resources for leaner, platform for user to share and reuse resources. Standardization is important and building an efficient education resource management system using proper technology is foundation system of distance education system.The subject is the research and implementation of education management system based on SCORM standard.The beginning of the paper introduces SCORM standard involved in the system. Firstly, it outlines the backgroud and function of SCORM. The following part gives an introduction of the content of SCORM. All education resources in this system follow the SCORM standard, which is the most popular distance education norm. It explains the theory and method of developing education resource in SCORM. The education resource developed by this method can be shared and reusable.After that, The paper analyses the actuality of education resource management system, gives the improvement of its disadvantages and solutions--SCORM as technical standard,Grid as technical support, tostandardize resources to meet SCORM, organize them scientficlly, provide a platform for efficient management and search. Users can share and reuse these resources rather than redundant construction.The paper gives the architecture, topology of system and a general design, describes technical architecture and function structure. Based on design, it gives implementation, introduces the deployment of system, production of education resource, every modules and so on.Finally, the paper describes the implementation of system on top of grid environment, using the related components of GT4; realize the efficient management of education resources.
