As the telecommunication evolved very fast, from the early age of the Analog Voice network to the Digit Voice network, then went into H.323 VoIP network and SIP VoIP network etc, different technical telecommunication network platform emerged continually. So, the interoperation between those platforms comes to be a big problem we must face. Network Gateway is such a switch center bringing those different platforms together, mainly includes the switch of Signal and Content (Voice, video etc.). Signal is the control commands which are sent between those network endpoints for the purpose of setting up and managing the communication. Because the control commands are so different in different platform, the signal transform plays the key role in the implementation of network gateway. This thesis will introduce such of a signal transform system connecting the SIP VoIP telecommunication network and the traditional ISDN network. This thesis will mostly include two parts: transform theory analysis and system implementation.In the foreword part, thesis introduces some background of this thesis, including some basic knowledge of network gateway technology, the source and introduction of the project which this thesis based on. This chapter will let reader have an overview of this thesis and the network gateway system.Then, thesis will introduce the current solution of network gateway. Firstly, thesis will introduce some signal transforms in the theory level, and then will introduce some companies'implementation of these signal transforms. Those two parts of contents will be corresponding to the chapter 4 of signal analysis and system implementation.The third chapter will introduce the network gateway's function module and the implementation of hardware and software. Especially, for two more important modules, ISDN and voice data transform thesis talks more details about them. This real network gateway system is the environment for the implementation of signal transform of the next chapter.Succeeding is the theory analysis part of signal transform. Thesis analyzes the SIP and ISDN DSS1 protocol in detail. And based on the analysis of the structure and business work flow of these two protocols, thesis concludes a feasible transform plan. The remaining part is another main point of this thesis; thesis will discuss how this transform plan could be implemented. Firstly, thesis discusses the modules in this real system, and then discusses the implementation of some key business'work in detail. This transform plan's design adopts two concepts: business abstract and modularization. Business abstract means that all the business logics in different network platform are abstracted to a common business logic set, and those different network platforms will be an implementation of the subset of that common abstract business logic set. Modularization means loose coupling will be kept between the implementation of different platform, also between different business processes, all these things will become different separated modules.At the chapter 5, the advanced topics of implementation will be discussed; those are extensible, simultaneousness, stable. These advantages are very important in the real system, are the key factors in measuring such kind of system. The solution in this thesis performs well in these aspects. This chapter will discuss the reasons behind these advantages.In the chapter of"System test and result", we discussed the test approach and the result for this system. In the real project, this gateway system passed kinds of test, and proved that this design and implementation is correct and feasible.In conclusion, this thesis proved the possibility of the transform between the SIP and ISDN DSS1, and then brought an implementation of it in a real project. In the both levels of theory and practice, this thesis has own promethean and advantage, will have a certain reference value for the succeeding theory and practice of signal transform between different telecommunication network. Especially, for those kinds of switch system from VoIP to traditional telephone system, this thesis has more value.
