Research On Software Testing Effectiveness Evaluation Based On GQM Model

In recent years, software testing has made great progress, but in the process of software development and successful implementation of testing is still a challenging task. The majority of the reason is not the lack of the testing theory, but in the test methodology and practical experience. The GQM model in software measurement is extended to software testing, measurement and evaluation of the effectiveness of software testing work of the whole process. Using the derived measure indicators and conclusion to improve the software testing process and enhance the test management, so as to obtain higher efficiency test.This thesis aimed at the current software testing effectiveness evaluation method, to improve software testing effectiveness evaluation method through the dynamic evaluation, diversified assessment and objective assessment and other aspects. Firstly, the effectiveness of the existing software testing method is discussed in detail in this thesis, through the study and comparison of the existing analysis, these methods are static evaluation, assessment results are too simple, strong subjective limitations. Then by combining the GQM model and software testing effectiveness, identified a test metrics collection which can reflect the effectiveness of software testing, and gives a measure of each index measurement method and calculation process. The metric based on the establishment of complete set, to measure concentration measurement results as the evaluation index, the construction of software testing the effectiveness of the evaluation process model and the significance of the model. The definition of the model elements of the evaluation object and its evaluation target, the evaluation index and the evaluation conclusion of the model stage are defined, the application of the model is described in detail. The model absorbs the benchmark management, iterative improvement, phase evaluation and post evaluation construction ideas, so as to effectively solve the existing in the traditional evaluation method problems what is static, evaluation results are simple, rely on subjective strong. At the end of this thesis, the research model verification, to evaluate the testing process through a practical project, which proves that the model is feasible, and to improve the testing process in phase, enhance the test management, so as to improve the efficiency of software testing work.
