Nowadays, with the improvement of the material civilization and the mental civilization, the people's sense of consume is changing gradually. People pay more and more attention to the artistic quality of the merchandise's appearance and its sculpt when they buy somehthing.So a lot of corporations start to innovate the artistic design of their products energetically.In the process of artistic design, designers need to get rid of the stale and bring forth the fresh with mining their create inspiration. It's far from meeting the need of the artistic creative design that the designers still use the traditional means to create artistic works, such as the create tools of paper and pencil, the create inspiration spurt out from their brain once in a while. What the designers need is the CAD tools which can inspire the designers'create inspiration.Along with the development of the computer technology, the computer artistic design can provide nicer assistant support to designers already. Excellent computer design system can inspire the designers'inspiration, and can help the designers finish their work rapidly and perfectly.The most part of the work in the artistic design is artistic graphics design. With combining the fractal theory and the computer graphics, we can get a large amount of beautiful and complicated fractal graphics generate from simple formulas. This method is very suitable to the CAD of the artistic graphics.The graphics generate from the application of the fractal theory can be used in the fields of advertisement design, packaging pictures design, decoration design. The application foreground of this method is very wide.This paper applies itself to research the generation method and the application of the artistic graphics based on fractal theory. Its purpose is to explore the nicer generate and choose methods of the fractal artistic graphics and to provide high-efficient and convenient support environment for the artistic graphics designers. the main job is:1.To research the fundamental of the fractal theory and its application in various fields based on the brief introduction of the research background, the research actuality abroad, and the significance to choose this subject.2.To research the generation methods of various fractal graphics systematically. To analyze the advantages and disadvantages and their applicable situation of these methods. To find the suitable methods that can be applied to generate artistic graphics.3. The classical Mandelbrot set and Julia set were extended to the general Mandelbrot set and Julia set, so the amount of the iterate function were extended, and a large number of fractal artistic graphics were generated.4.The ameliorative escaping-time algorithm which can portray the inner-details of Mandelbrot set and Julia set were brought forward. The graphics could be more artistically qualified with the portrayal of the inner-details.5.The method of adjusting the iterate function with cycle fuction were used to generate the artistic graphics with different styles. A great deal of adjust methods were given to enrich the kinds of the artistic graphics.6.The fundamental of the genetic algorithms were researched systematically. A method makes use of the genetic algorithms to choose the artistic graphics were given. This method can help the designers to find the graphics according with the need.7.The improved method of color up were given. This method makes use of the escaping-time algorithm. And various color scheme were provided. So, the artistic graphics with different color styles can be generated.8.An design system of artistic graphics were carried out, and it was based on the fractal theory. This system were developed on the platform of WindowsXP, using VB6.0, and the result of the design is satisfying.
