Wireless sensor network is a kind of new network technology which based on collaborative efforts of multiple self-organized dynamic nodes, under lots of extremely constraints namely limited energy, abominable environment which are deployed, limited communication ability and so on. Without the support from any fixed infrastructure, this type of network can provides an extremely flexible method for collecting all kinds of information from the environment which are in totally distributed network system. The inherited characteristics of wireless sensor network make it useful for many applications, such as environment monitoring, battlefield surveillance and home automation. However, they also bring in a lot of research challenges at the same time. One of the important issues is the key technology in wireless sensor network, which including routing technology, data aggregation, clustering protocol, clock synchronize etc., since the conventional approaches adopted for traditional networks are not directly used in wireless sensor network because of its specific characteristics. The key technologies in wireless sensor network are the basement to the development of any real application. In this dissertation, we attempt to resolve some problems in several kind of key technology which including data aggregation, clustering protocol, QoS. According to the specific characteristics of wireless sensor network, we analyze the dependency relationships between different key technologies carefully and get the conclusion that we should consider these technologies as a whole. We develop a routing protocol SCBRP (Specific Clustering-based Routing Protocol) based others research which mainly serve for the clustering protocol, data aggregation scheme and QoS scheme. In order to enhance the performance of LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) , an improved clustering protocol named ICBPWSN (Inheriting Clusterheads-based Protocol for Wireless Sensor Network ) is developed and is verified through experiment by means of OMNET++ ,which is a popular simulation software in foreign countries. ICBPWSN can be better than LEACH in saving energy, clustering speed and lifetime of the whole network. Data aggregation can efficient handling Redundancy data so that it can save energy and enhance the data precision of network. In order to avoid increasing the complexity of hardware, spending more energy and computing resources, a data aggregation scheme, which uses a simple aggregating function, is developed. This scheme cans flexible, convenient collecting data from the network nodes. The results of experiment demonstrated that this scheme has several advantages, i.e. it can efficient alleviate bandwidth requests, saves energy, short response time. Based on the advantages of former research, we give a new QoS scheme: ALBDA (Application Layer-based Data Aggregation) which exploits others technology discussed in this dissertation. We also proved that this scheme could get better network performance than without in energy expenditure and flexibility.
