At present, more than 140 millions of the web blog exists in world, by the same time, this number is increasing within a speed of ten more per second. Especially in these two years, the blog is exploding. The end of last year, depending on its net database which contains more than 1 billion Chinese web sites, Baidu indagated the Chinese blogs : by the end of the november of 2005, in the Chinese web work field, there are 36,820,000 blogs, own by 16,000,000 people. So 2005 is called "year of the blog"The birth of the web blog indicates the arrival of the personal media epoch .when a person becomes a blog, he gets the right of diffusing the information and producing the knowledge. he is no longer a passive receiver but an active communicator. he enters into a public sectors freely, gives his oppions to the public affairs, shares the personal information and knowledge with the others. This blog epoch is changing the personal existence and his identity, and finally, it will change the appearance of the society, and reconstitute the traditional relationship among the country, society and individual.In this research of the blend of the intimacy and the publicity --- the dual characters of the web blog, I shall open out the complex relationship between the individual and the society, and the huge change which the blog brings to us .There are three parts:Firstly, the history and the sorts of the web blog, and the psychological base of the blog owners;Secondly, the intimacy and the publicity of the blog. In the first place, I shall expatiate how the bloggers show themselves in this web world; and analyse the popular blogs of the public people. then I shall analyse the blend of the common place and the private place, finally I shall try to give the reasons of the problems in this process.Lastly, the influences of the blogs to our lives.
