With the technologies of liquid crystal, optic, micro-electronic, micro-control and computer, stereoscopic display can display 3D image of an object based on the 2D information. Stereoscopic display plays an important role in photography, robot vision, medicine, design of industrial product, 3D profile measurement, article sculpture, architecture and military field and so on. With the further research and development of the stereoscopic display, the stereoscopic display will have great influences on and make great change on the style of people's life.There are several work having been done in this paper: firstly, researching on the 3D display and binocular vision, simple structure, principle easily realized, based on parallax barrier principle 3D display model was selected according to the research purpose; secondly, solve out the technique parameter of 2D/3D barrier system according to the geometry model of optical system; thirdly, optical software was used to verify the design and also to optimize barrier system and back light unites to improve stereoscopic display's irradiance and uniformity; at last, the paper was summarized and raised out the work what would be done in the future and the development trend of the stereoscopic display.
