As a matrix 2D barcode, QR code , developed on the base of 1D barcode , not only has characteristics of other 2D barcodes, but also has inherent characteristics. So it is one of the 2D barcode that is most fit to be developed in China.This thesis mostly deals with the recognition and application of QR code, including research on encoding/decoding, barcode recognition and application.Encoding/decoding mostly studies encoding principle of QR code, a Reed-Solomon error correction algorithm is employed to find and correct any errors in the decoded message, Reed-Solomon code is a kind of linear group code, by the error correction principle of Reed-Solomon code, discussing the encoding and decoding algorithm of Reed-Solomon in QR code. Mended in this thesis is a standard QR code 2D barcode location recognition algorithm,. It takes advantages of QR code inherent characteristics to locate and recognize the barcodes in an image with relatively computations and employing Visual C++ on the flat of Windows. By plenty of QR code characteristics and rapidly expanding internet and message, this thesis designs an application scheme which is application of QR code technology for identification system based on internet and message increment operation flat.
