A passive ring resonator is the core sensing element in the micro waveguide gyroscope. Its performances influence the minimum resolution and the error items of gyroscope directly. A new type of silica-based SiO2 waveguide passive ring resonator is reported in this paper. Passive ring resonators composed of GeO2-doped silica waveguides fabricated on silicon substrates by flame hydrolysis deposition method are described. Have accomplished the simulation and design of waveguide, directional coupler, bend waveguide and passive ring resonator by optical design tools. Have studied the important parameter of ring resonator-Finesse theoretic. Since the finesse and transmission at resonance is determined mainly by total loss in the ring, the loss characteristics of the fundamental components are investigated in detail. According the current advanced optical manufacturing method , the schemes of the fabrication and manufacture has been presented. |
