The Technical Realization Of IPTV STB

The development of the economic society changes day by day, the condition of people's living improves tremendously, and the traditional television programs can't satisfy the need of the large consumers, so the new generation of IPTV that has the network function will be ready to come out. We have designed the network terminate that is IPTV STB(Set Top Box). We can use it to change media steaming on the network into the signal of popularized television that can be recognized.This paper elucidated the related theories of IPTV, the key technique of the IPTV STB and the related protocol standard. And then, introduced a project of IPTV STB that realized based on AMD AU1200 processing chip.The design of this terminal equipment is divided into two parts, included the part of software and hardware. The paper elucidated the design method for these two parts. According to the functional characteristics and chip structure of main chip, designed the electric circuit diagram and PCB board of hardware part. Basis on layered model, software part stressfully gave the compiling thought and procedure realization method of top layer.Main work of the author is to design and test the part of top layer which is the part of software, and make the connection of people and machine better. For top layer of software, the paper elaborated details of realization method and procedure thought, made use of eVC development environment and the emulator of Win CE to complete the development and testing, integrated it into the whole software system at last.
