WinCE BSP Design For Multimedia Terminals

In this dissertation, a Multimedia Terminals Windows CE Board Support Package is designed. This Multimedia Terminal is developed based on AMD Au1200 using Windows CE 5.0 as its embedded operation system. The dissertation gives a detail description about the system Boot Loader, OAL (OEM Adaptation Layer) and device drivers' design.The current development of the embedded system OS is introduced first, then the system design scheme of the Navigation System is proposed. After that, the porting method of the Boot Loader and WinCE OS are discussed in detail, as well as the design of the WinCE device drivers for the peripherals. Finally the test of the BSP for the target system is presented.Chapter 1 introduces the current development of the Multimedia Terminals, the embedded system OS, and the Board Support Package technology.Chapter 2 analyzes the system and BSP designation of the Multimedia Terminals with focus on the hardware framework, the system's principium and BSP framework.Chapter 3 introduces the Boot Loader Yamon focusing on the Yamon technique keys and the procedure of the porting of the Yamon which has been specialized for the Multimedia Terminals.Chapter 4 analyzes the specialized porting method of Windows CE to the Au1200, manufactured by AMD, for the Multimedia Terminals. It emphasizes on the Operation System porting procedures including Boot Loader, OAL and device drivers.Chapter 5 introduces the method of customizing image for Multimedia Terminals, and gives out an example.Chapter 6 describes the Board Support Package for Multimedia Terminals software test, and gives out the result of the test.Chapter 7 concludes the research works of this dissertation and proposes the prospects of further development.
