IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) to the family of broadband networks as STB multimedia network terminals, as providing video data integration and other business ties. STB products currently support the IPTV business generally are basic, enhanced and super-three grades : 1) basic STB can support IPTV basic operations of the network television broadcast. 2) In addition to enhanced STB with basic functions, but also provide Internet browser, simple games and text information retrieval function, 3) the number of super-bigh-end STB equivalent of a family entertainment center In addition to providing the basic IPTV business and expand their businesses, but also realize interactive video games, Additional personal video storage and other functions.The purpose of this paper is to use AMD Alchemy Aul200 processor which has the high-performance integrated with the hardware media engine in order to develop a kind of middle and high-end IPTV STB to the occupied areas of middle and high-end markets. In this paper, proceed from the basic principles of embedded system, and proceeding from the actual needs, IPTV in various domestic programs on the basis of extensive research, design, a new realization of high performance-price ratio, functional scalability strong IPTV STB. The main work in this paper as follows:1. Embedded mainstream of IPTV STB overall design of the program2. Study of the MIPS32 instruction-set architecture3. System design is completed to the right of control to the operating system Boot Loader guide procedures4. Research electronic program guides (EPG) technology and its application to the System5. Design completed the IPTV STB graphical user interface (GUI) and the main program menuIn regard to the above, after careful analysis and research, the IPTV STB to complete the overall design of this paper, demonstrated that the rational choice of various devices and the feasibility of the STB. The basic function of the realization of the STB, the authors conducted a careful and rigorous tests. And the final test results show that the program is designed to achieve the IPTV STB broadcast pictures are clear, Though small in size, easy to use a series of advantages, so as to achieve the objectives of the original design. Facts show that the design is feasible, a new highly competitive market of IPTV STB.
